Lightwell 2008, Dangerous Australians, viewed 1 June. 2012, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYuy4MfKv0k
Micheal Hill, Director of Lightwell, Master Media Art, other members of Lightwell have Bachelors of Design and years of experience designing multimedia for Museums and other public spaces both Nationally and Internationally.  Lightwell produce installations from large scale interactive projects to detailed touch screens.
Dangerous Australians is located at the Australian Museum in Sydney, and was installed in June 2008.  The work is a six metre long interactive projection that features some of Australia's most dangerous animals. It consists of custom Mac software and features 3D computer generated imagery creatures.  The main purpose of this work is interactive education.  This particular work, gives detailed information when closely examined but also because the table's inhabitants respond to prying visitors in a scarily life-like way, achieves the aim of education across all age groups.  There are also electronic tools such as a magnifying glass to get up close and learn more about each of the table's inhabitants, such as their habitat and behaviour.  There is also information about first aid treatment if bitten.
Other similar installations such as the 'Never Enough Grass' project at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra which is also a multi-touch, interactive and also the 'Yiwarra kuju' large scale, multi-touch screen installation about the Canning Stock Route in Western Australia also located at the National Museum of Australia.  As the Dangerous Australians project is found in the Australian Museum in Sydney, which has both National and International visitors of all ages,  and is primarily for education regarding dangerous animals in Australia, it does this successfully by being interactive, colourful and life like.

I personally love the projects of Lightwell and will be sharing their work with you all in the future!.

Podcasts

http://feeds.feedburner.com/mugglecast

While searching through Podcast Alley, I came across the podcast above for the Mugglenet.com and being a big Harry Potter fan, had a listen.  Well I am hooked, the hosts cover everything, serious, funny, weird, just fantastic for any Harry Potter fan.  The episodes would be great for themed story time in the library!.

There are many podcasts we could use in the library.  For larger interested groups we could set up a meeting room where the clients could listen to podcasts relevant to their interests.  Storytime for our younger clients, listening to as suggested above episodes of Harry Potter from mugglecast, also there are informative podcasts from the National Library of Australia, regarding family history research and Heritage Tasmania dealing with living in a listed home, The Australian Conservation Foundation and Parks and Wildlife Service Tas deal with many issues from weed control in our community to protecting endangered wildlife, Collections Australia Network and the Australian Society of Archivists have information on art exhibitions and news on emerging technologies for digitization.  The uses for podcasts in our libraries seems endless.

More exploring in Wiki

I haven't found Wikis to be all that helpful to me, but that's not to say I wont find uses for them in the future.
One thing I can think of where a Wiki might be useful for a Library, might be to have clients comment on such subjects as collection content or new installations or operating hours, this could be as broad as the library may want it.  Feedback on quality of service and comments on how to improve the service could be another.

More Flikr Fun

Today I have enjoyed mapping my photos.  This was fun and is a good way of storing and organising your photos in date and location order.

Montager is also a wonderful creative way to display your photos and looks good printed on canvas.

CULLB602C Task 6: Wikis

I found the video by common Craft very informative even without sound.
After a little research, I came across a Wiki by the NLA, although it wasn't evident or listed in their social networking section on the home page.  I was disappointed to also discover that the wiki was not all that interesting, but felt it was worth a look as the other wikis listed in the Web CT discovery exercise are American.

While searching for Wikis related to Australian Libraries, I found an interesting blog instead.

On another note I am interested in exploring the possibility of using a Wiki to bring together the key interested groups in my uni project and give them this avenue to communicate their ideas.  In this way I may be able to have them communicating effectively and without too much conflict.!

CULLB602C : Task 5 Delicious

In Delicious I have started to organise my contacts and their websites to do with my uni studies.  Stacking the various branches especially of the government departments will be an extremely helpful tool.
This exercise has also helped me to answer the question regarding organising contacts and websites from my tutor.
This application within the library itself, would be a great tool as an added way we can help our clients to access information individually, help our clients to set up their own accounts and stacks, but also as groups such as classes of students and community groups.
I personally am finding more uses for these applications this year and will continue to use them to stay organised and informed.
