Podcasts

http://feeds.feedburner.com/mugglecast

While searching through Podcast Alley, I came across the podcast above for the Mugglenet.com and being a big Harry Potter fan, had a listen.  Well I am hooked, the hosts cover everything, serious, funny, weird, just fantastic for any Harry Potter fan.  The episodes would be great for themed story time in the library!.

There are many podcasts we could use in the library.  For larger interested groups we could set up a meeting room where the clients could listen to podcasts relevant to their interests.  Storytime for our younger clients, listening to as suggested above episodes of Harry Potter from mugglecast, also there are informative podcasts from the National Library of Australia, regarding family history research and Heritage Tasmania dealing with living in a listed home, The Australian Conservation Foundation and Parks and Wildlife Service Tas deal with many issues from weed control in our community to protecting endangered wildlife, Collections Australia Network and the Australian Society of Archivists have information on art exhibitions and news on emerging technologies for digitization.  The uses for podcasts in our libraries seems endless.
